This course equips participants with the essential skills, knowledge, and confidence to provide immediate and effective first aid treatment to individuals experiencing sudden illness or injury, whether in the workplace or at home. The training focuses on preserving life, preventing the condition from worsening, and promoting recovery.
Through a blend of practical and theoretical instruction, participants will learn to deliver lifesaving interventions, particularly in cases involving potentially fatal illnesses and injuries, such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and severe bleeding. The course follows the Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines and is applicable to both workers and community members who may need to perform CPR or provide first aid in an emergency.
The following national units of competencies are delivered and assessed by Skylar Education RTO 21647:
- HLTAID011 Provide First Aid
- HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
Duration: 1 Day (combining theory and practical components)

Please note that First Aid training must be updated (refreshed) every 3 years. CPR training must be updated (refreshed) every 12 months.
Prerequisites:
There are no prerequisites for the course.
Entry Requirements:
- Students must have the ability to read, write and understand English
- Students must present photo ID upon arrival
- Students must wear normal work clothing, enclosed footwear
- Students must have the physical capacity to perform the practical demonstrations, such as 2 minutes of uninterrupted CPR on the floor.
