CASE STUDY

13501 - PRINCE OF WALES HOSPITAL

Due to the very small footprint SHA were called into to complete a deglaze 1 of a 180kg vision panel (Level 6/7 Western Elevation) to allow the installation of an Alimac. Accessing via the helipad we used Counterweight rigs tied down via 2 x Ferrule Anchors for back up. A Vortex multipod was set up on the lower roof to create a high point / deviation to avoid a sharp edge for our ropes

A 2:1 Mechanical Advantage (MA) System was set up on the glass sucker unit to lesser the load on the pull force from the winch. We therefore reduced the total Weight from 260kg to 108K. Using up to 800 metres of rope was required for our technicians and tensions lines, we cut out all sealant and lowered the vision panel safely to the ground.
