This training course equips candidates with the skills to effectively and safely respond to workplace emergencies. It aligns with the training requirements outlined in the Australian Standard AS3745-2010, “Planning for emergencies in facilities,” ensuring that your personnel are prepared to manage emergency situations.
Participants will gain the knowledge and hands-on experience needed to safely evacuate a workplace or facility as well as practical training on the correct use of fire equipment.
The following national units of competencies are delivered and assessed by Skylar Education RTO 21647:
- PUAFER008 Confine Small Emergencies in A Facilities
Duration: 3-4 hours pending experience (combining theory and practical components)
Cost: $160 Inc. GST
Prerequisites:
There are no prerequisites for the course. All students must be eligible to receive nationally recognised training within Australia and be able to provide an unique student identifier (USI) upon enrolment
Entry Requirements:
- Students must have the physical capacity to be able to meet the demands of the practical demonstration skills including gaining access, working, and egress from a place of height whilst wearing the appropriate PPE
- Students must have sufficient English language, literacy, numeracy and visual interpretation skills to successfully complete the course
- Students must present photo ID upon arrival
COURSE CONTENT:
This course has been built to give candidates the skills in evaluating a fire, manage evacuation of personnel and efficiently extinguish an initial fire using basic firefighting equipment.

- Hazard identification and risk control
- Fire behaviour
- Identifying signs of a fire
- Initial actions on discovering a fire
- Fire prevention strategies
- Emergency escape procedures
