This course equips students with the essential knowledge and hands-on experience needed to effectively perform rescues using various pre-configured rescue systems. Participants will gain proficiency in the use of industry-standard kits, such as the Skylotec Milan and Gotcha kits, ensuring they are prepared to respond swiftly and safely in emergency situations.
Upon successful completion of the course, students will be proficient in the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) against falls from heights. They will gain hands-on experience working with various structures and will be able to perform a quick and safe rescue using the variety rescue kit.
Citification: Students will be issued with a Verification of Competency (VOC) certificate upon completion of the course.
Duration: Half Day (combining theory and practical components)

Prerequisites:
Students must hold an in date Working at Height certificate.
Entry Requirements:
- Students must have the physical capacity to be able to meet the demands of the practical demonstration skills including gaining access, working, and egress from a place of height whilst wearing the appropriate PPE
- Students must have sufficient English language, literacy, numeracy and visual interpretation skills to successfully complete the course
- Students must wear normal work clothing and enclosed footwear
- Students must present photo ID upon arrival

- Hazard analysis and risk assessment
- The importance of rescue provision
- Individual and team safety
- Anchor points and rigging, including edge protection
- Rescue Plan
- Rescue techniques – casualty management
- The use of work restraint and positioning techniques
- Height safety techniques
- Vertical / Horizontal Rescue
- Use of mechanical advantage systems (e.g. pulleys)
- Winches
- Descender / Ascender devices
