Accidents and sudden illnesses can happen anytime, anywhere. This one-day Provide First Aid course gives participants the essential knowledge, skills, and confidence to deliver immediate and effective first aid — from CPR and defibrillation to managing severe bleeding and other medical emergencies.

 

Delivered by qualified instructors and aligned with Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines, this course is ideal for workers, supervisors, and community members alike. It ensures you’re prepared to preserve life, prevent a condition from worsening, and promote recovery, whether at work or at home.

 

What You’ll Learn

  • Scene assessment and management in emergencies
  • DRSABCD action plan, CPR, and use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
  • Management of shock, bleeding, fractures, burns, and other injuries
  • Recognising and responding to medical conditions (asthma, diabetes, anaphylaxis, etc.)
  • Infection control and incident reporting
  • First Aid principles and legal considerations

How long is the First Aid certificate valid?
First Aid certificates are valid for 3 years, but CPR must be refreshed every 12 months to remain current and compliant with workplace and industry safety standards.
Do I need any prior experience or qualifications to enrol
No prior experience is needed — this course is open to anyone interested in gaining essential First Aid and CPR skills
Will I receive a nationally recognised certificate?
Yes. Upon successful completion, you’ll receive a Statement of Attainment for HLTAID011 Provide First Aid and HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, issued by Skylar Education (RTO 21647).
Do I need to bring anything to the course?
Please bring a valid photo ID and wear comfortable clothing and enclosed footwear suitable for practical demonstrations. All First Aid equipment and materials are provided.
