Due to the close proximity to the sea and the corrosive nature of the extreme weather, Sydney is affected by Concrete Cancer on many of its buildings.
Water penetration to concrete can cause the steel reinforcement to rust. As the steel rusts it causes concrete to break away. This falling debris represents a major hazard to public on the streets below and needs to be managed in one of the following ways.
Depending on your requirements and budget we can help you with the management or repair of concrete cancer or spalls.
Make safe: where we remove all loose debris from the affected parts of your building in a safe manner. We take care of debris removal leaving your site clean and safe. We can also undertake periodic maintenance of your facade until further repair is required.
Repair the damage via rope access and patch the facade. We clean and treat the steel reinforcement and re-patch with appropriate repair mortar. We match the colour and texture of the existing finishes making the repairs blend in with the rest of the building.
